The local based players in the Digicel Fiji 7s team will have to prove themselves as top contenders for next year's World Cup 7s tournament.

Team Coach Waisale Serevi says the squad to Dubai and George has a chance to prove, if they don't want any overseas based players to be considered for the defence of the Melrose Cup.

Serevi says the players know how important this trip to Dubai in their rugby career is, with the World Cup coming up next year in the same venue.
