The members of the Digicel Fiji 7s team will be put through their paces in two local tournaments next month before the final squad is named to the New Zealand sevens.
HPU manager, Talemo Waqa said that they have decided to give their boys a break this Festive season however they will be monitoring their progress.
Waqa added that they will be using the Fiji TV 7s and the Uprising Fiji International 7s for the selectors to choose the final squad.
Meanwhile, Fiji has been drawn in Pool D with South Africa, France and Canada.
Fiji is the defending champions at the New Zealand 7s which will be held in the first week of February.
