A 55 year old villager of Korovuto, Nadi, died after he accidently touched a live FEA wire yesterday afternoon.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern SP Vijay Singh has confirmed that the man was returning home after catching fresh water mussels when the incident occurred.
According to SP Singh, the deceased was going home through a track in the cane field when he stepped on a fallen FEA line.
This is the third such incident in the last few weeks where people have lost their lives after touching live FEA wires.
The Fiji Electricity Authority is expected to comment later today.
