The Lions have broken the stereotype of South African rugby and can create history by winning the Super Rugby title.
That's the belief of respected South African rugby writer Mark Keo-hane as a wave of optimism engulfs the republic ahead of Saturday night's final in Wellington against the Hurricanes.
Keo-hane is adamant the Lions are good enough to overcome the problems that have plagued previous playoffs visits to New Zealand by South African sides that have left them with 10 losses from as many matches.
The Hurricanes will host the Lions at 7.35pm Saturday.
