The Lions came from behind and snatched a 22‑18 victory over the Bulls to earn their third straight win at Ellis Park.
It brings an end to the Bulls four match winning streak but the moves them above the Sharks on points difference and into third place overall.
In the other Super Rugby results, the Crusaders smashed the Sharks 52-10, the Brumbies beat the Cheetahs 20-3, Chiefs defeated the Blues 23-16, Rebels beat the Reds 23-15 while the Hurricanes continued their unbeaten run with a 25-20 win over the Stormers.
After Round 8 of Super Rugby, the Hurricanes continue to top the table with 31 points, second are Brumbies with 24 points while the Bulls trail in third place with 19 points.
