With Olympic dreams on the line in Rotorua this weekend, the New Zealand national sevens tournament is set to crank into another gear.
Although several of New Zealand’s real star names will not be competing at Rotorua International Stadium today and tomorrow, there will be more than enough talent to light up the event.
With a little luck, All Blacks 7s Coach Gordon Tietjens will be hoping to find a final piece to add to his New Zealand Sevens puzzle on someone with lightning pace.
With the need for pace in the New Zealand team to counter the likes of Perry Baker and Carlin Isles of the USA, or Seabelo Senatla of South Africa, Tietjens hopes to see plenty of gas from the wingers on display.
Meanwhile, the Wellington 7s will be held on the 30th and 31st of this month.
