Immigration Director Commander Viliame Naupoto has today stressed that Suva lawyer Graham Leung will not be allowed to leave the country until the directive is given by the Home Affairs Ministry.
Naupoto said it is pointless for Leung to go to the airport to try to leave the country as he knows well that he is on the travel watchlist.
Naupoto said only the Interim Home Affairs Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama can reveal the reasons why Leung is banned from leaving Fiji.
Graham Leung was barred from leaving Fiji again this morning after he tried to board a Sydney flight at about 8am today.
Leung who arrived at the Nadi International Airport with some members of the Fiji Law Society was turned away from the immigration area.
Speaking to our reporter Gulsher Ali at the Nadi Airport, Leung said that he will now take the matter to court after immigration officials insisted that he is still on the travel ban list.
Meanwhile, Vice President of the Fiji Law Society Tupou Draunidalo who was at the airport also questioned the reasons behind such decisions.
