I agree with the need to look at India and China but this will take time, effort and resources.

Those were the words of the President of the Fiji Hoteliers Association Dixon Seeto who said there had been a lot of talk about the "Look North" policy and not to worry about the traditional markets of Australia and New Zealand, given the political differences we have with these countries.

Seeto added the Australian and New Zealand markets provide 60 percent of the tourists in Fiji and given their healthy length of stay and longer spend/day their contribution to Fiji's economy is over 70 percent of the tourism earnings derived from these markets.

He said he believed the Fiji Visitors Bureau (FVB) is correct in its approach in maintaining its strategy to devote much of its promotional funds to aiding the recovery and developing these two markets more as well as looking at the established markets of North America, the UK, Europe and South Asia.
