Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said it was now time to end race based voting and stop fearing about little parliamentary representation of the minority races due to the increasing Fijian population.
When questioned today on the possible reduction in the number of seats in Parliament under the proposed changes by the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, Chaudhry said the nation should be concerned over more important issues than the representation of various races in Parliament.
He stressed the need to move away from communal voting to rid the nation of such concerns.
