Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama is planning to bring all political party leaders together in one room at the parliament complex next Monday to discuss about the future of our country.
In a letter to the party leaders, Commodore Bainimarama said the interim government and the state are committed to conducting a general election as soon as practically possible.
He said it is imperative that they move forward to facilitate this without further, undue delay.
Bainimarama is also flexible on the agenda of this proposed meeting on Monday.
He had suggested to party leaders that the agenda be kept open and flexible but within the overall framework, which is sustainable constitutional and democratic governance.
Commodore Bainimarama further suggested that while they await the response from the Commonwealth Secretariat and the UN on their joint facilitation in the proposed President's Political Dialogue Forum, they can make a head start on issues such as the agenda and terms of reference for the forum.
The Interim Prime Minister said Doctor Sitiveni Halapua of the Pacific Islands Development Program of the East West Centre and Robin Nair who is a member of the President's Independent Monitoring Group will assist in the process as interlocutors.
Bainimarama had asked the party leaders to confirm their attendance by tomorrow.
Fijivillage had received confirmation that SDL, Fiji Labour Party, United Peoples Party, National Federation Party and Conservative Alliance Matanitu Vanua have been invited by the Interim Prime Minister to Monday's meeting.
