Everybody from our overseas tourism markets are having a quiet Christmas and are choosing to stay home instead of travel.
These are the sentiments of Tourism Fiji Chairman Patrick Wong who said the tourism industry is in its slow period right now but should pick up after New Years.
Wong said the positive spirits of the Fiji citizens have actually assisted the industry to progress despite the existence of pressing issues that seem to dampen our spirits and deter progress.
Wong adds the tourism industry has gone through some trying times and has still managed to look promising.
