Lenient Sentences Won’t Be Considered
High Court Judge Justice Isikeli Mataitoga sentenced Akuila Dromudole, Felix Vusanikalau, Alifereti Tokona, Irimaia Ratunarukutabua to 10 years imprisonment each with five years to be served concurrently with their current terms.
Dromudole who is currently serving a 14 year sentence had five years added to his term, Vusanikalau will spend ten years in prison after having five years added to his previous four year sentence, Tokona will spend the next 19 years of his life behind bars after having five years added to his sentence while Ratunarukutabua will serve a total of 11 years behind bars.
Only Vilimoni Saumaki, who was not a serving prisoner, was sentenced to five years imprisonment this morning.
The five on 6th December 2007, armed with a pinch bar threatened and robbed Chandra Kumaran and his son Navneet Kumaran of assorted items valued at over $8,000 and fled in Kumaran's vehicle which was later found abandoned in Lami.
