Traditional giants of Secondary schools rugby, Lelean Memorial School has been crowned the new champion of the Coke Zero Deans.
The boys from Davuilevu defeated Ratu Kadavulevu School 13-8 in the Under 18 final at Churchill Park yesterday.
Lelean had not won this prestigious trophy since 2011 when a decision was made for the Deans trophy to be challenged in the Under 18 grade.
Lelean last won in 2010 when the Deans trophy was last competed in the Under 19 grade.
Lelean scored all its points in the first half.
Waisea Niumataiwalu scored the only try while Lepani Moce kicked two penalties and a conversion.
Lelean coach, Ilaitia Masi said they modified their game plan which gave them the win.
He added that the win is dedicated to all the parents and old scholars of Lelean.
Meanwhile, RKS defeated Lomaivuna High School 18‑7 to claim the Under‑19 title.
Marist Brothers High School defeated Lelean 25-18 in the Under 17 final.
Marist also won the Under 16 final where they beat Natabua High School 16-7.
Queen Victoria School won the Under 14 and Under 15 finals.
QVS defeated Marist Brothers High School 21-19 in the Under 14 final and then beat Ratu Navula 12-3 in the Under 15 final.
