Lelean Memorial School has denied Marist Brothers High School of a gold medal in one of the first field events of the Coca Cola Light Games this morning.
According to the FijiVillage medal tally, in the boys division, Nadroga Arya is leading with 1 gold and 1 silver, Nadarivatu Secondary, Lelean, DAV College of Ba and LDS are tied at second place with 1 gold each and Holy Cross and St Thomas are tied in third place with a silver each.
In the girls division, ACS is leading with 1 gold. Wainimala Secondary is in second place with 1 silver and Nadogo Secondary is third with 1 bronze.

“Marist Brothers High School has just seen a gold medal slip from their hands in the Senior Boys’ Shot Put event where the favourite Seserio Vosarogoci, who was expected to win the gold medal, had to settle for a silver medal. As Josefa Levula of Lelean Memorial School won the gold medal in the Senior Boys’ Shot Put Seserio Vosarogoci of Marist Brothers had to settle for a silver medal, while Peni Seawale took out the bronze medal and third place. Also in the Sub Junior Boys Long Jump Event: the first place and gold went to Earnest Namolo of Latter Day Saints and the silver medal went to Ulaiyasi Ratunivatulele of St Thomas’ High School and Josua of Xavier College in Ba won the bronze medal in the Sub Junior Boys Long Jump Event. We have currently away the heats in the 100m where the focus will be the senior boys event where the favourites Iowane Dovumatua, Alfred Smith from Natabua High School, and Setareki Tikosaiya of Queen Victoria School will be the focus. Looking at the Legend FM Medal Tally so far: Nadroga Arya College is currently in the lead with 1 gold and 1 silver medal, Nadarivatu, Lelean, DAV College in Ba and Latter Day Saints all have managed to get one gold each. In the Girls’ Division Adi Cakobau School leads with one gold medal. Wainimala is second with a silver and Nodogo Secondary School sits in third in the girls division with one bronze medal at this stage.”
Also, Latter Day Saints College of Tamavua bagged the first gold medal on the first day of competition in the field event in the Sub Junior Boys Long Jump.
Ernest Namalo won gold in the event while the silver medal went to Ulaiasi Ratunivatulele of Saint Thomas and bronze went to Josua Draunidalo of Xavier College in Ba.
Meanwhile, the 100 metres heats are currently underway. The 400 metres heats commence at 12:18pm while the 200 metres heats kick off at 10 minutes past two this afternoon.
The finals of the 100 metres will start at 6pm in the sub junior grades while the Blue Ribbon event is scheduled for 6.24pm.
