The Fisheries Ministry has clarified that there is legislation in place to address the issue of under-sized fishing.

This is after the Fisheries working group was asked a question during the Food Symposium on Friday whether there is legislation in place.

Swani Maharaj from the Fiji Chamber of Commerce raised concern that a lot of crabs and fish are seen on the road and it is a waste of stock.

Permanent Secretary for Fisheries, Viliame Naupoto said that undersized fishing is not allowed but a review of the Legislation is underway.
