Legend FM to air Dec5th special
Qarase said he could not give into the military's demands last year and he got a clear impression that the RFMF wanted to carry out the operation at any cost.
Qarase also denies that he ran away from Suva on the morning after the takeover last year. He said it was all part of a plan which he had to follow.
Qarase has also stressed today that the best solution for Fiji is to return to a democratically elected government.
He said the interim government needs to realize that the international pressure is continuing, most of our industries are under-performing and everyone does not agree with what is currently happening in the country.
Qarase said the interim government's most important initiative over the past year has been the announcement that elections will be held in March 2009. And he believes that it is now time for the administration to engage in positive dialogue. Meanwhile, Legend FM will air two special programs today.
A 30 minute December 5th special report on the lead up to last year's events will be aired from 2pm today on Legend FM.
And from 4:45pm onwards this afternoon, we will have Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama live on Legend for a one-on-one interview with our News Director, Vijay Narayan. Stay with us for these two special programs.
