The Legal Aid Commission Director Filimoni Vosarogo was asked to vacate his office yesterday after his contract was not renewed by the Board.

It had been confirmed that Vosarogo was informed via email from the Legal Aid Commission Board that his services are no longer required and for him to vacate office by the end of business yesterday.

Vosarogo will be given adequate time to vacate the official residence of the Director in Muanikau.

Legal Aid Commission Board Chairman, the Solicitor General Christopher Pryde confirmed that Vosarogo's contract was not renewed and he will now appoint someone to act in the position until a Director is appointed.

When questioned by Fijivillage on the reason for the non-renewal of Vosarogo's contract, Pryde said he will not comment on the matter only that the post will soon be advertised and Vosarogo is free to apply.

Pryde said the other lawyers employed at the Legal Aid Commission will be retained.

He said he is yet to decide who is to act in the post.

Vosarogo was appointed to the post in April 2006.
