Suva Grammar School athlete Waisale Ledua will be Fiji’s lone representative at the World Youth Athletics Championship in France next week.

This is his first overseas outing and the youngster is looking forward to the trip after clocking a personal best time of 10.7 seconds in the Athletics Fiji trials at the TFL National Stadium on Saturday.

Ledua won gold for the Intermediate Boys at the Coca Cola Games earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Team Fiji selected a young side for the Pacific Games.

Most of those who were selected are still in secondary school and include the likes of Blue Ribbon champion Banuve Tabakaucoro, Elenoa Sailosi, Sisilia Seavula, Ana Kaloucava, Paulini Korowaqa, Seremaia Liku along with Suva Grammar’s Lepani Naivalu.

The Pacific Games will start in the third week of August.
