A senior lecturer of the University of Fiji Law Campus been appointed as the Pacific Islands Forum new representative in the Solomon Islands.

Sakiusa Rabuka has been chosen for the three year position replacing Lesi Korovavala, who resigned in October last year.

Forum Secretariat Secretary General Tuiloma Slade said Rabuka's responsibilities includes, liaising on the implementation of the goals and objectives of RAMSI and Leaders' Forum Ministerial Standing Committee and Enhanced Consultative Mechanism decisions, and for providing advice on Forum decisions, programs and assistance.

Rabuka has also represented Fiji as a diplomat in New York and was counselor / Deputy Permanent Representative of the Fiji Mission to the United Nations.
