The leave application to appeal Justice Roger Coventry's ruling on costs of $20,000 being awarded as damages in Tupou Draunidalo's case, was heard in Chambers today by Justice John Bryne.
In granting the leave application, Justice Bryne said that the cost of $20,000 awarded by the trial judge, Roger Coventry was excessive and the judgment raised questionable points of law.
Today Justice Bryne also ordered a stay on the order of Justice Coventry until further notice.
The case is adjourned until the 5th of next month.
