Viseisei chief Ratu Tevita Momoedonu believes it will be hard to renew leases in the Western Division for agriculture farming.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Ratu Momoedonu said it is a well known factor to the landowners in the Western Division that the revenue they get from agriculture farming is minimum.

The Taukei Sawaieke added that although the Interim Government has increased the Unimproved Capital Value on agriculture leases to increase the level of income for landowners, most of them have looked at other options which can bring more revenue.

While he supports the work of the Committee of Better Utilization of Land, Momoedonu said most landowners want their land to be used for tourism or commercial leases which can give them a lot of benefit.
