The Fiji Muslim League said that it will use its traditional connections with other Muslim countries to help secure aid for Fiji.
League national president Hafiz Khan said as the government is focusing on its look North Policy, a lot of Islamic countries like Malaysia, Indonesia or the Middle East are based in those territories and the Muslim league has traditional ties to these countries.
He said even though they are a minority they are Muslims and they have various international forums where they meet with them and Fiji's presence is recognized there.
Khan said that as good citizens of the country, if the country is facing difficulties, regardless of the political situation, it should be seen that the people of Fiji should not suffer and should have food on the table.
Khan said the aid they would try and secure would help the economic development of the country
Khan gave the assurance during the presidential dinner of the 26th executive meeting of Regional Islamic Da'Wah Council of South East Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) held at the Natadola Intercontinental Golf and Spa on Monday night where the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama was the chief guest.
