The Pacific Island Leaders will want to know exactly when elections will be held in Fiji.
European Parliament Development Committee Member Bernard Lehideux (Leidoou), through interpreter Daniel Pashley said in the upcoming Pacific Island Leaders Forum in Papua New Guinea, the leaders will want answers from Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama because he is the one who had made the commitment to them that elections will be held in March 2009.
The four members EU delegation said after their three day visit that they could not confirm that credible and timely preparations for elections are underway.
Also as a result of this, the EU grant of $334 million for the Sugar Industry for 2008 and 2009 will remain on hold.
