Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Micheal Somare has stressed that all members of the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum will adhere to the forums decision's in relation to Fiji.

Speaking to our reporter Petrina Zinck in Port Moresby, Somare said that they have made their decision very clear and the forum has agreed to give the interim government in Fiji an ultimatum to come up with an election timetable by May 1st or face suspension from the forum.

Somare said he was disappointed that Commodore Frank Bainimarama could not attend the forum but they took Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyed-Khiayum's explanation into account and they incorporated alot of this in their recommendations and decision.

Meanwhile, Forum Chair and Nuie Premier Toke Talagi said they appreciate the efforts earlier by Somare to try and engage Bainimarama when he tried to defer the forum.

However Talagi said they had to have the meeting as the logistics of trying to change the meeting at such short notice was impossible for many of the Pacific Leaders.
