Lawyers of the ousted members of the Great Council of Chiefs and the state will now have to file affidavits in April on the judicial review of the 2007 Fiji Affairs Regulations and the removal of the GCC members.

Justice Jiten Singh had this morning refused the stay order filed by state lawyers, as he found it had no merit and that the issue was very important and needed to be dealt with immediately.

GCC lawyer, Ratu Savenaca Komaisavai said the Fijian people should be happy as this is a matter of grave national interest which must be heard quickly before the courts saying there is no use in delaying the matter.
