As Lawyers representing former Great Council of Chiefs members prepare to file an injunction against the GCC Special Task Force, they stress that it has not their direct intention to stop the review the chiefly body.
Savenaca Komaisavai said they believe the aim of the task being undertaken is in the best interest of the indigenous Fijians and the council.
However, Komaisavai confirms that they will seek the courts leave to file the injunction motion when the case is called before High Court Judge Justice Davendra Pathik tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, GCC Task Force Chairman Ratu Tu'uakitau Cokanauto said earlier that they will continue with the work they have been mandated to do and will start consultation on the review of the GCC from this week.
