DPP Lawyer Aca Rayawa has raised concerns in the manner in which Fiji Law Society President Dor Sami Naidu attacked members of the Judiciary and alleged interference from the interim government at the DPP conference earlier today.

Fiji Law Society President Dor Sami Naidu launched a scathing attack on the interim government alleging interference in the rule of law and the Judiciary while addressing delegates at the DPP Conference this morning.

Naidu alleged that there was clear interference in the Judicial system by the state in incidents regarding Angie Heffernan's case, the deportation of newspaper executives Russel Hunter and Evan Hannah in relation to the manner in which court orders were ignored and ex-parte orders obtained by the State.

He also said there seemed to have been interference in the judicial system in the manner in which the State obtained a stay on Judge Justice Filimoni Jitoko's ruling regarding the Peoples Charter case.

He later told our reporter Dreu Vukailagi at the Shangri La's Fijian Resort and Spa that he stands by his statement even though he could be reprimanded for it.
