A stay order has been sought by Suva lawyer Davinesh Sharma as he said that his client who is charged with allegedly stealing more than $400,000 from her employer, had her case pending in court for a long time.

Sharma said that the case should have been heard earlier as the alleged incident occurred two years ago.

Thirty-one year old Monika Arora is charged with allegedly fraudulently obtaining over $400,000 from the company she worked for.

Magistrate Salesi Temo, taking into account that Arora is alleged to have committed the crime in 2007 and taken $472,466.47 while being employed by Vinod Patel, has adjourned the case to a later date pending submissions for a stay order.
