The Vice President of the Fiji Law Society said the Society Council can discuss the issue of stepping in and paying for its President Dorsami Naidu's court costs if it gets a written request.

Laureal Vaurasi said the Fiji Law Society funds are to be used for the objective of the Society and if the former President Isireli Fa thinks the Society Council should pay for Naidu then a request letter should be written and the matter will be taken up in the Council meeting in two weeks time.

Vaurasi's comment comes after Fa commented last week that the court order has to be followed and the Fiji Law Society Council can step in to pay the $12,100 the court has ordered Naidu to pay.

Naidu was ordered to pay as a result of Naidu's failed application when he was representing Angie Heffernan in her case in 2007 and last year.
