The Fiji Law Society still does not know whether or not their Annual General Meeting will go ahead.

Society Vice President Laurel Vaurasi said they have not had a formal response from Police on whether or not the permit, cancelled during the weekend, would be reinstated as per their request.

The permit for the AGM to be held later this month at the Fijian Hotel was granted earlier but was cancelled without reason by Police.

Society President, Dorsami Naidu said they have written to police wanting to know the reasons behind the cancellation as they would only be discussing the society's financial matters and the election of new Office Bearers, and would not discuss controversial matters.

Director Operations, SSP Waisea Tabakau is in a meeting and is expected to comment later today.
