The Fiji Law Society has confirmed that it is now looking into a complaint lodge against law firm Munro Leys by the Fiji Human Rights Commission.
Society President Isireli Fa confirmed to Fijivillage News receiving the complaint and said both parties will now be requested to give their side of the story.
Fa stressed that it is not their task to ascertain if the complaint has any merits but to look into the matter through the normal procedure.
Both parties have 14 days to respond to Law Society with their side of the story.
The FHRC lodged a complaint against law firm Munro Leys for allegedly violating the constitution while facilitating the formation of the Duavata Initiative Company and has requested the Fiji Law Society to immediately instigate an independent review into the conduct of the law firm.
The Commission alleges that Munro Leys violated the Constitution in helping with the registration of the Duavata Company.
