The Fiji Law Society is expected to seek a response from the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum later this week on allegations that he took an illegal oath when he joined the interim government.
FLS President Isireli Fa confirmed they the Interim AG will be given the opportunity to respond before any further steps are taken regarding the complaint.
The complaint, received from a member of the public, calls for Sayed Khiayum to be disbarred for allegedly taking an illegal oath.
Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khiayum told Fijivillage news that since hearing about the complaint through the media some two weeks ago and hearing statements made by the Fiji Law Sosciety President, he has not received anything in writing to date from the Law Society on the matter.
