The Fiji Law Society has raised serious concerns as to why the Attorney General's chambers sought an ex-parte application in the Court of Appeal against the ruling by the High Court Judge Justice, Justice Filimoni Jitoko late Friday afternoon.
Society President, Dorsami Naidu after meeting with the Fiji Law Society Council yesterday afternoon said that this is not the first time the state has sought an ex-parte application.
He alleges the SDL was not consulted by the AG's chambers while applying for the ex-parte application.
In reply Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyad-Khaiyum said they sought an ex-parte application because it was an urgent matter and an NCBBF team was on its way to Rotuma.
He said the Fiji Law Society President should stop personalising matters and start dealing with issues in a professional manner.
