The Lautoka and Vodafone Labasa Soccer Team recorded impressive wins in their opening Pool 1 games of the FMF/Blue Gas Battle of the Giants.

Labasa in front of a sellout crowd at Subrail Park, hammered Nasinu 3-0 with two goals from Samuela Kautoga and one from New Zealand based Roy Krishna.

The Babasiga Lions will now focus their attention to next week's second pool game against defending champions Vodafone Ba, who are not playing in the opening round this week.

Last night also in another Pool 1 match, Lautoka beat Nadroga 2-0.

The sugar city boys scored both of their goals in the second half to Salesh Sami and replacement striker, Isimeli Naresia.

The side will play in the opening game on Thursday at 5pm against Nasinu.

Today in the Pool 2 clash Rewa host Nadi at Rt Cakobau Park at 3pm and a live commentary of this game can be heard on our sister station Radio Sargam, while at Thompson Park Navua takes on Tavua.
