The Lautoka soccer team has suffered a big setback ahead of the teams O-League encounter against Vanuatu’s Amical FC tomorrow.

Star midfielder Jone Vono Junior has twisted his ankle during training and is likely to miss the game.

Vono has established himself as one of the top midfielders in Fiji and his absence in the important match tomorrow will surely be felt.

However, Fijivillage understands Nigeria based Sanni Issa will fill the vacuum left by Vono in the left midfield position as he has proven himself in the warmup matches played against the Fiji Under 20s.

Meanwhile, Lautoka soccer officials are facing another problem ahead of the match as all four Nigeria based players’ visas expire tomorrow and they will need to leave the country by tomorrow.

Lautoka Soccer president Shalendra Prasad said they are hopeful the visas will be extended and if not then they will have no choice but to play the match without the Nigerian players.

Lautoka takes on Amical FC 3pm tomorrow at Govind Park and you can catch a live commentary on our sister station Radio Sargam.
