Lautoka step closer to create history
They just need a win over Hekari United today to register their first final, after Marist FC and Tafea FC ended their match in a nil-all draw yesterday afternoon.
Lautoka have nine points in Group B while Tafea FC sit on eight points and Hekari United is third place with seven points.
A win this afternoon will qualify Lautoka for the final, although they will have a game in hand against Tafea FC later this month.
Fiji Football Association President Doctor Samsud Dean Sahu Khan is urging the soccer fans to come out in numbers to support the Lautoka team in today's crucial O-League match against Papua New Guinea's Hekari United.
Sahu Khan said this will be a very exciting match and he believes that Lautoka will have a upper hand.
Meanwhile, overseas soccer pundits say Hekari will be favourites in this match, because of the inclusion of three Solomons National reps, while Lautoka will be fielding only local players.
Hekari team owner, John Nato said they are here on a mission, and that is to return home with three points in the bag.
Meanwhile, Lautoka soccer president Shalen Prasad said they are happy to take the "underdogs" tag and the team management has made a plan on today's game, and how they can win.
Tafea and Marist who are also in Pool B with Lautoka in the O-League competition battled to a nil all draw in Port Vila yesterday.
In this afternoon's match Lautoka take on Hekari United at 3pm at Churchill Park.
