The Shop and Save Lautoka soccer team kicked off their 2009 O-league campaign on a high note beating Marist FC in Honiara yesterday by 3 goals to 1.

Striker Kamal Hassan, defender Samu Kautoga and midfielder Nahual Arrate scored for the Blues.

Although the side travel to the Solomon Island with only 15 players after striker Valerio Nawatu and goalkeeper Alifereti Baleiloa were suspended, it did not affect their performance as they led 2-nil at halftime.

The 10,000 home fans in Honiara got behind their team, when they scored mid way through the second half but the Sugar city boys did not allow them to come back into the game, as they scored their third gold at the stroke of full time.

Lautoka's second outing in the O-League will be again away from home against Hekari FC in Papua New Guinea next month.

In other O-League matches, Auckland beat AS Manu Ura from Tahiti by 5-0 while PNG's's Hekari United and Vanuata's Tafea FC played to a 3-all draw.
