Former Suva soccer team midfielder Saimata Chillia may not be able to play for Lautoka in the Battle of the Giants soccer tournament next month.

Lautoka soccer president Shalen Prasad is trying his best to get the top midfielder across from Vanuatu, so that they can win the tournament in their home ground.

But it is understood that Suva soccer association gave a conditional release to Chillia after the Fiji Fact. This means that Chillia can play for any other team in any other country apart from Fiji.

According to Suva soccer officials, if Chillia opts to play in Fiji for any other district, then that district will have to pay $17,000 to Suva soccer, the money they used on him while he played for the capital city side.

Prasad is now investigating the matter and trying to find out through Fiji FA, how they can get Chillia to play for them.
