The Bus Fire at Lovu Lautoka yesterday morning started from the Engine compartment.
The Corporate Affairs Officer of the National Fire Authority, Mileta Ting said the Lautoka General Transport Bus was carrying over 60 school children and adults from Vakabuli Village towards Lautoka City when the incident happened.
She said lives were saved with the quick thinking and action of the bus driver.
Meanwhile, Ting said fire officers are currently investigating another fire at a three bedroom house in Olosara Sigatoka which the fire fighters managed to put out before it could spread to the whole house.
Ting said the fire is believed to have started from a bedroom and investigations are underway.
No one was home at the time of the incident.
