Lautoka soccer team is just a step away from being the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the Vodafone Fiji FACT.

Lautoka beat Savusavu 1-nil last night and now the Blues have six points from two matches. 

The sugar city side will qualify for the semis should the team beat Suva this afternoon.

Inspirational Lautoka team defender, Peni Finau who scored the lone goal against Savusavu last night said the conditions at Ratu Cakobau Park did not help his side.


Meanwhile, defending champions Rewa has again failed to click after a 1-nil loss to Suva last night.

Suva striker Joseph Mishra scored in the second half which makes Rewa’s chances of qualifying to the semifinals slim as the team has lost two matches so far. 

Suva now has four points from two matches.

Meanwhile, Ba beat Nadroga 2-nil and the Men in Black now have four points after two matches. 

In other matches yesterday, Labasa and Tavua drew nil-all.

Looking at today’s matches, at 1.30pm Navua will play Tavua, at 3pm Nadi will play Savusavu and at 4.30pm Lautoka will take on Suva.
