Lautoka, Rewa most impressive after day 1
Playing with 10 players, Rewa beat Labasa 1 nil in the feature game of day 1.
Super sub, Archie Watkins came to the rescue for the delta boys when he scored the winning goal in the 23rd minute of the second half from a header after a free kick from Marika Rodu.
Watkins said they changed their approach in second half which resulted in the win.
Lautoka taught Savusavu a tough lesson in their first Super Premiere tournament in the last pool game of day 1 with a 7-0 win.
The hosts led 1-0 before Savusavu was reduced to 10 players and they scored another six goals to record the biggest score-line for day 1.
Coach Yogendra Dutt said that some areas in their game still needs improvement.
In other results, Suva beat Nadi 2-0 and Ba drew with Tavua nil-all.
Tavua coach, Kamal Swammy said the presence of former Ba rep, Valerio Nasema in defence was a blessing as he knows the Men in Black well.
The opening pool game of day 2 will start at 4pm with Nadroga taking on Suva.
At 5.15pm, Ba will face Rewa and you can catch a live commentary on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
Than at 6:30pm, Labasa will face Navua which will be the Babasiga Lions must win game and the last game of second day at 8pm, hosts Lautoka will take on Nadi.
