Some Tikinas in the Lau Province have changed their stance on the People’s Charter for Change at the Lau Provincial Council meeting yesterday.

The Tikinas of Moala, Totoya, Matuku and Lomaloma have given their full support to the People’s Charter after earlier opposing the idea.

The representative of the Tikina of Lomaloma Pita Foiakau apologized openly in the meeting that he did not agree when the Charter was first introduced to them last June.

The same sentiments were shared by the rep from Moala.

However, they have changed their views and expressed their full support for the Charter and the current leadership.

A presentation from the Development Commissioner North Kisoko Cagituivei on the Charter highlights the implementation of the 11 pillars which ensures the development projects in the rural areas and how the outer islands will be assisted.

The meeting was chaired by Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba at Studio 6, Suva.
