Lau Supports Roko Ului
Speaking to Fijivillage, Pita Foiakau, the Mata ni Tikina o Lomaloma, said the 14 tikina representatives in the provincial meeting respected Roko Ului's decision during the meeting because he is their high chief and he will have to make the last call for them.
Foiakau believes if the Commanding Officer for 3 FIR addresses them in his capacity as a military officer then it could have been different because they know where his loyalty stands but during the meeting he was speaking to them as their high chief, and any statement he made for the province, they will have to respect.
Meanwhile, the people of the tikina of Ono-i-Lau will meet today in Laqere to discuss a few issues regarding their tikina.
One of the agenda in the meeting is for Ono-i-Lau to sever their ties with the Lau province and to become part of Tonga.
Ono-i-Lau rep Anare Jale was stopped from attending the meeting earlier this week after the Ministry of Fijian Affairs ruled that he would not be able to be their representative.
