The Lau Provincial Council two day meeting kicks off today at the Arts Village in Deuba.
The I-Taukei Affairs Ministry confirmed Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will open the meeting and will speak to the chiefs and the representatives of the provincial council.
There are a number of issues on the development of the province which are expected to be discussed at the meeting.
Roko Tui Lau Ratu Joseva Navakaroko is expected to comment later today.
The meeting kicks off at 9am today.
