The late former President and Tui Vuda, Ratu Josefa Iloilo will be laid to rest next Thursday.
Permanent Secretary for Defence, Jale Fotofili said Ratu Iloilo’s final journey through Suva will begin next Monday.
He also confirmed that Ratu Iloilo’s body will lie in state at Government House on Monday.
Fotofili said the diplomatic corp, civil society organizations or other groups can pay their final respects to the late Tui Vuda while he lies in state.
He said all traditional presentations of i-reguregu are encouraged to be made to the Vanua of Vuda at Viseisei.
There will be no presentation of the i-reguregu at Government House while the former President lies in state.
Fotofili said the military will escort the chiefly hearse from Suva to Vuda on Tuesday.
Details of Ratu Iloilo’s funeral next Thursday are expected to be released later.
