Last minute venue change cause of delays
The tournament was scheduled to be held at Ratu Cakobau Park but due to the unfavorable weather conditions it was shifted to Nadi.
Last night the final of the under 14 grade started at 9:50pm and Fiji Kaji Rugby Association President George Seruiratu said they had an agreement with the district officials that they had to complete the tournament last night.
Seruiratu also said they can’t have an extra day of competition as it will burden the districts who have gone through enough.
Seruiratu added they had to make last minute changes to the draws as some teams pulled out and there were a few sudden death games which led to the delay last night.
Meanwhile the Kadavu under 10 side was eliminated from the semifinals after the referee gave the wrong result to the officials.
Seruiratu said this issue was unacceptable.
The tournament started three hours late on Monday as there were no medical professionals available and some issues of player identification were raised by some districts officials.
Some teams who traveled from outside Suva also lost by default during the tournament.
