Wallabies attack coach Stephen Larkham has labelled Dan Carter as the greatest fly‑half of all time ahead of their World Cup final clash with the All Blacks at Twickenham on Sunday.
Carter will make his 112th Test appearance for the All Blacks when the world champions seek to become the first team to defend their crown by lifting the Webb Ellis Cup for an unprecedented third time.
Larkham believes Carter’s position among the all‑time greats is already guaranteed.
Larkam says that the standard of rugby nowadays is totally different from his time.
Wallabies flanker David Pocock also believes that hard work has earned him a place in the squad and also the World Cup final.
All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster says they have enough players to counter the threat of Pocock.
Meanwhile Australian rugby fans have launched a tongue‑in‑cheek petition asking for a change to the kick off time of Sunday’s World Cup final so that they and their New Zealand counterparts can stay in bed a bit longer.
The Twickenham final kicks off at 4pm local time in London, which ranges between midnight and 5am in New Zealand and Australia and 5am in Fiji.
The All Blacks will take on the Wallabies at 5am Sunday.
