Digicel Fiji sevens captain Manu Laqai said they are ready to shoulder the nation=s hope this weekend.
Laqai who was part of last year’s winning team believes with Ben Ryan in the side they can come up with some interesting moves.
The Tailevu flanker said some players may be new to the series but not rugby.
Meanwhile, the Gold Coast 7s kicks off at 12.30pm Saturday and Fiji’s first pool match is against Canada at 1.58pm Saturday.
Fiji’s second match is against Portugal at 5.14pm and the last pool match will be against Wales at 9.24pm.
The Cup quarter finals start at 1.58pm on Sunday, Cup semis kick off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.
