Manueli Laqai has been ruled out of the remainder of the USA 7s tournament after an eye gouging incident in the opening game against England.
Laqai has been handed a 6 week ban which effectively rules him out of the remainder of the Las Vegas tournament and Fiji's opening Hong Kong 7s tournament if the player does make the travelling team to So Kon Po.
Firstly he was given 12 weeks ban and on appeal it was reduced to six weeks.
This is a major blow for the Fiji 7s team as Laqai is one of hardworking forwards and his absence will really be felt in the team.
Fiji’s last pool match is against Portugal at 8am tomorrow.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 1.52pm tomorrow.
