Efforts are now being made by the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources to collect arrears owed to the government that has accumulated over the years.
Ministry of Lands Permanent Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni said the ministry is owed $8M to $10M and they are working towards addressing the issue as these arrears have accumulated over the years.
Lieutenant Colonel Leweni said they are also looking at reorganizing staff within the ministry in order to collect these arrears.
He also said there have been inconsistencies in the collection of arrears over the years.
